The back cover with track list that she put on insta is a bit better. A more symmetrical composition, Lana centred, less distracting elements, better typography could’ve made this strong. I don’t have a problem with the subject matter/theme but I really think this could’ve been done well with a bit of effort put into it. The Lana del Rey font is a poor choice and doesn’t read well over the background. The album title typography is nice enough (probably the best thing about the cover IMO) but still pretty amateur and badly balanced.

The iPhone in the foreground is a huge distraction and would’ve taken a professional all of 10 seconds to remove from the image - which makes me wonder who is in charge of this artwork in the first place? I would’ve comped in a new background too, and removed some distracting elements eg the concrete line on the floor. The right hand side is nicely exposed with lots of contrast but the ladies on the left look a bit dull and flat with the bad lighting. The photo is badly composed and badly lit to boot - black and white can be tricky especially with a complex background. This is so poorly executed and thoughtlessly slapped together I don’t know where to begin.
