Starting the laptop using the shortcut Option+R, the laptop shows the external SSD and the option to install Mac OS Calatina. The installation doesn't start nor can I chose other options after having chosen a WiFi connection. The 2018 restarted with the prohibited symbol (ie OS not supported) and command-r no longer worked either since it tries to run the local recovery first.
